Exclusive: Aldis Hodge and director Keir O'Donnell talk Marmalade
Playing in theaters and on VOD from Brainstorm Media + Signature Ent is the dark comedy Marmalade, written and directed by Keir O'Donnell (making his feature directorial debut) and starring Joe Keery, Aldis Hodge and Camila Morrone.
Marmalade is an edge-of-the-seat crime-tinged romance tale. Recently incarcerated Baron (Keery) strikes up a friendship with cellmate Otis (Hodge), a man with a well-versed history of prison breaks. As the pair hatch an escape plan together, Baron recalls the story of how he met Marmalade (Morrone), the love of his life, and their "Bonnie and Clyde" style scheme to rob a bank in order to care for his sick mother and give the couple the life they’ve always dreamed of.
The film was produced by Sarah Gabriel, Marc Goldberg, James Harris, Mark Lane, and Jason Shapiro.
Known for his roles in Regina King’s One Night in Miami and Hidden Figures, Hodge has most recently been seen starring opposite Dwayne Johnson in Warner Bros/DC’s Black Adam. He previously starred in Showtime’s City on a Hill and will next be seen leading the Amazon series Cross, based on the bestselling novels by James Patterson. Other upcoming projects for the actor include the sci-fi thriller Parallel with his brother Edwin Hodge and Danielle Deadwyler.
