Exclusive: Alyssa Sutherland and Lily Sullivan talk Evil Dead Rise and continuing the franchise
Hitting theaters from New Line Cinema and Renaissance Pictures is a return to the iconic horror franchise, “Evil Dead Rise,” from writer/director Lee Cronin (“The Hole in the Ground”). The movie stars Lily Sullivan, Alyssa Sutherland, Morgan Davies , Gabrielle Echols and introducing Nell Fisher.
Moving the action out of the woods and into the city, “Evil Dead Rise” tells a twisted tale of two estranged sisters, played by Sutherland and Sullivan, whose reunion is cut short by the rise of flesh-possessing demons, thrusting them into a primal battle for survival as they face the most nightmarish version of family imaginable.
“Evil Dead Rise” is produced by Rob Tapert (“Ash vs Evil Dead,” “Don’t Breathe”) and executive produced by series creator and horror icon Sam Raimi and cult legend and “Ash” himself, Bruce Campbell, along with John Keville, Macdara Kelleher, Richard Brener, Dave Neustadter, Romel Adam and Victoria Palmieri.
Sutherland is an Australian actress and model best known for her roles as Queen Aslaug in the History Channel television series Vikings and the sci-fi series The Mist.
Sullivan is also an Australian actress who played Coral in the 2012 film Mental, and Miranda in the 2018 television series Picnic At Hanging Rock. She had a leading role in the Australian sci-fi thriller Monolith.
