Exclusive: Amanda Warren talks The Night Agent Season 2
Hitting Netflix on Jan. 23 is second season of The Night Agent, starring Gabriel Basso and Luciane Buchanan.
Created by Shawn Ryan and Sony Pictures Television, new cast members include Amanda Warren, Berto Colon, Louis Herthum and Arienne Mandi. Brittany Snow and Teddy Sears are in recurring roles.
Based on the novel by Matthew Quirk, The Night Agent is a sophisticated, character-based, action-thriller centering on a low level FBI Agent , Peter Sutherland, whose efforts to save The President in Season 1 earn him an opportunity to become a Night Agent in Season 2. But working in the secretive organization of Night Action will propel Peter into a world where danger is everywhere and trust is in short supply.
Warren plays Catherine Weaver, a veteran of the top-secret Night Action investigative program, who trains and oversees various Night Agents, including Basso’s new recruit, Sutherland. Smart, private and determined, Catherine is a fierce defender of her agents, but finds it difficult to earn Peter’s trust when he struggles with betrayal issues from his experiences in Season 1.
Warren was last seen starring opposite Jamie Foxx in Maggie Betts’ acclaimed legal drama The Burial, currently streaming on Prime Video. Previously, she led the CBS cop drama East New York, also appearing in significant roles on Apple TV+’s Dickinson, Max’s Gossip Girl reboot, CBS’s Madam Secretary, USA Network’s The Purge, HBO’s The Leftovers and more.
Her film credits include Dan Gilroy’s Roman J. Israel, Esq., Darren Aronofsky’s Mother! and the Martin McDonagh pics Seven Psychopaths and Three Billboards.
