Exclusive: Big Mood interviews with Nicola Coughlan, Lydia West, creator Camilla Whitehill and director Rebecca Asher

Playing on Tubi starting on April 19 is the comedy series Big Mood, starring Bridgerton and Derry Girls star Nicola Coughlan and It’s a Sin‘s Lydia West. Written by Camilla Whitehill and directed by Rebecca Asher, the series explores the nuances of female friendship when threatened by serious mental illness.

Best friends Maggie and Eddie played by Coughlan and West have lived in each other’s pockets for ten years, through thick, thin, and multiple challenging eyebrow trends. But with the rest of their lives looming, careers hanging in the balance, and Maggie’s bipolar disorder making an unwelcome return to form, Maggie and Eddie’s relationship faces the future – can it survive?

Joining the series’ ensemble is Niamh Cusack, Eamon Farren, Luke Fetherston, Kate Fleetwood, Rob Gilbert, Rebecca Lowman, Sally Phillips, Ukweli Roach and Amalia Vitale.

The series is executive produced by Lotte Beasley Mestriner, Laurence Bowen and Chris Carey for Dancing Ledge Productions and produced by Georgie Fallon. BIG MOOD was commissioned for Channel 4 in the UK by Commissioning Editor, Laura Riseam.
