Exclusive: Chris Pratt and the fun he had voicing Garfield in The Garfield Movie
Hitting theaters on May 24 from 20th Century is the animated family film Garfield The Movie, directed by Mark Dindal and based on the Garfield characters created by Jim Davis. Written by Paul A. Kaplan, Mark Torgrove and David Reynolds, the voice cast includes Chris Pratt as Garfield, Samuel L. Jackson as Vic, Hannah Waddingham as Jinx, Ving Rhames as Otto, Nicholas Hoult as Jon Arbuckle, Cecily Strong as Marge, Harvey Guillén as Odie, Brett Goldstein as Roland, and Bowen Yang as Nolan.
Garfield (voiced by Chris Pratt), the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat, is about to have a wild outdoor adventure! After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father – scruffy street cat Vic (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) – Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist.
The film was produced by John Cohen, Broderick Johnson, Andrew A. Kosove, Steven P. Wegner, Craig Sost, Namit Malhotra, and Crosby Clyse.
Pratt was last seen reprising his role as Peter Quill/ Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and voiced the character Mario in The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Pratt’s other voice roles in films have included The Lego Movie, The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part, and Onward.
