Exclusive: David Oyelowo and Kaley Cuoco talk Prime Video's Role Play

Hitting Prime Video from Amazon Studios on Jan. 12 is the action thriller Role Play, Directed by Thomas Vincent and starring Kaley Cuoco, David Oyelowo, Connie Nielsen, and Bill Nighy.

Emma has a wonderful husband and two kids in the suburbs of New Jersey—she also has a secret life as an assassin for hire, a secret that her husband David discovers when the couple decide to spice up their marriage with a little role play.

The movie is based on an original idea by George Heller. Andrew Baldwin and Seth W. Owen co-wrote the screenplay.

Oyelowo is best known to audiences for starring as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in the 2014 biopic, Selma. He was recently nominated for a Golden Globe and a SAG for his role as the titular character in Lawmen: Bass Reeves, a limited series he co-produces for Paramount+ about the first black deputy U.S. Marshall in the American West. He also stars and produces the short film The After, which is shortlisted for an Oscar nomination. He was featured in the Apple TV+ series Silo opposite Rebecca Ferguson. He will next be seen in Jeymes Samuel’s biblical film The Book of Clarence, starring LaKeith Stanfield.

Cuoco is also an Emmy nominated actress, getting nominated for her critically acclaimed HBO Max series The Flight Attendant. Cuoco also starred for twelve seasons in one of the highest-rated sitcoms, The Big Bang Theory. She is also known for voicing the titular character on the animated series Harley Quinn.

Role Play will be a co-production between production banners The Picture Company and Studiocanal. Alex Heineman and Andrew Rona will be producing the film through The Picture Company with Cuoco producing the film through her own banner, Yes Norman Productions. George Heller will also serve as an executive producer on the film.
