Exclusive: Director Adam Wingard On Choosing Who Wins The Battle In ‘Godzilla vs. Kong’
Hitting theaters and on HBO Max on March 26 from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures is the action-packed Godzilla Vs. Kong, the fourth MonsterVerse installment. The franchise kicked off in 2014 with Gareth Edwards' Godzilla, followed by Kong: Skull Island in 2017 and Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019.
Directed by Adam Wingard from a script written by Terry Rossio, the film stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Jessica Henwick, Julian Dennison with Kyle Chandler and Demián Bichir.
Legends collide as Godzilla and Kong, the two most powerful forces of nature, clash on the big screen in a spectacular battle for the ages. As Monarch embarks on a perilous mission into fantastic uncharted terrain, unearthing clues to the Titans’ very origins, a human conspiracy threatens to wipe the creatures, both good and bad, from the face of the earth forever.
Having done The Guest, Blair Witch and Death Note, this marks Wingard’s biggest film to date. Production on Godzilla Vs. KIng Kong started back in 2017, so it’s been a long time coming for the film to hit the big screen.
HIs next project will be directing and co-writing a re-imagining of Face/Off, the 1997 John Woo-directed action thriller that starred John Travolta and Nicolas Cage.
In speaking with BlackFilmandTV.com’s Wilson Morales, Wingard talks about his take on which monster should win the battle.
