Exclusive: Director Mark Anthony Green and John Malkovich talk Opus
Hitting theaters on March 14 from A24 is Opus, marking the directorial debut of Mark Anthony Green and starring Emmy Award winner Ayo Edebiri.
Written by Mark Anthony Green, the cast also includes John Malkovich, Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, Amber Midthunder, Tatanka Means, Young Mazino, Tamera Tomakili, Stephanie Suganami, and Peter Diseth.
A young writer is invited to the remote compound of a legendary pop star who mysteriously disappeared 30 years ago. Surrounded by the star's cult of sycophants and intoxicated journalists, she finds herself in the middle of his twisted plan.
Malkovich’s recent credits include HBO’s The New Pope from creator Paolo Sorrentino, as well as the films Velvet Buzzsaw, Bird Box, and Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile. He also appeared in Showtime’s finance drama Billions, Malkovich was also in Alex Wolff drama The Line and Charlie Day’s directorial debut Fool’s Paradise.
A writer, director, and veteran of the fashion world, Green previously helmed the comedy short Trapeze, U.S.A., which won awards at festivals like Hollyshorts. He also recently served as the Special Projects Dire.
