Exclusive: Director Shana Feste and Producer Effie T. Brown talk horror thriller Run Sweetheart Run

Currently playing on Prime Video is the horror thriller Run Sweetheart Run, directed by Shana Feste and starring Ella Balinska, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Pilou Asbæk, Clark Gregg, Dayo Okeniyi and Betsy Brandt.

The film first premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival.

Produced by Shana Feste, Effie T. Brown, Jason Blum, and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, the script was written by Feste, Keith Josef Adkins, and Kellee Terrell.

Initially apprehensive when her boss insists she meet with one of his most important clients, single mom Cherie (Ella Balinska) is relieved and excited when she meets charismatic Ethan (Pilou Asbæk). The influential businessman defies expectations and sweeps Cherie off her feet. But at the end of the night, when the two are alone together, he reveals his true, violent nature. Battered and terrified, she flees for her life, beginning a relentless game of cat-and-mouse with a blood-thirsty assailant hell-bent on her utter destruction. In this edge-of-your-seat dark thriller, Cherie finds herself in the crosshairs of a conspiracy stranger and more evil than she could have ever imagined.

For Feste, who’s directed and written The Greatest, Country Strong, Endless Love, and Boundaries, this film is a new territory for the California native.

Effie T. Brown is a film and television producer known for such films as Rocket Science, Real Women Have Curves, Everyday People, Desert Blue, Dear White People, and But I'm a Cheerleader. She was seen in the fourth season of Project Greenlight as a producer on that season's film project The Leisure Class. Her most recent film is The Inspection directed by Elegance Bratton and starring Jeremy Pope.

Blackfilmandtv.com’s Wilson Morales spoke with Feste and Brown on their experience on this horror thriller.
