Exclusive: Eddie Redmayne, Lashana Lynch talk Peacock’s The Day Of The Jackal

Hitting Peacock (US) and Sky (UK) on November 7, 2024 is The Day of the Jackal series, starring Eddie Redmayne, Lashana Lynch, and Úrsula Corberó.

An unrivaled and highly elusive lone assassin, the Jackal, (Eddie Redmayne) makes his living carrying out hits for the highest fee. But following his latest kill, he meets his match in a tenacious British intelligence officer (Lashana Lynch) who starts to track down the Jackal in a thrilling cat-and-mouse chase across Europe, leaving destruction in its wake.

The supporting cast includes Charles Dance, Richard Dormer, Chukwudi Iwuji, Lia Williams, Khalid Abdalla, Eleanor Matsuura, Jonjo O’Neill, Nick Blood, Sule Rimi and Florisa Kamara.

Written and executive produced by Ronan Bennett, the other EPs include Gareth Neame and Nigel Marchant (Carnival Films), Sam Hoyle (Sky Studios), and Sue Naegle.

Redmayne recently starred in Netflix’s The Good Nurse, starring opposite Jessica Chastain. He won the Oscar for The Theory of Everything. It marks his first television series in 13 years when he starred in The Pillars of the Earth. He also played Newt Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts series. He also played The Emcee in both London and Broadway productions of Cabaret.

Lynch recently starred as Rita Marley in the Bob Marley biopic “Bob Marley: One Love.” She is also known for playing Miss Honey in the musical film “Matilda.” In the past few years, she starred opposite Viola Davis in Gina Prince-Bythewood’s “The Woman King” and opposite Daniel Craig in the James Bond film “No Time to Die.” She is also part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the role of Maria Rambeau. She has played that part in the films “Captain Marvel” and “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” to date. In television, she is known for her work in the Shonda Rhimes show “Still Star-Crossed,” “Death in Paradise” for BBC One, and “Crims” for BBC Three.
