Exclusive: Emmy Rossum talks Peacock's Angelyne and getting into character
Now playing on Peacock is its highly anticipated wrapped-in-pink limited series, ANGELYNE, starring Emmy Rossum. All episodes aired on Peacock starting on Thursday, May 19.
A limited series about the mysterious blonde bombshell who takes over Los Angeles billboards in the mid-1980s, planting the seed for famous-for-being-famous influencer culture. Loosely inspired by the 2017 Hollywood Reporter article that revealed Angelyne's secret past as a Polish-born daughter of Holocaust survivors, the story focuses on fame and the elusive nature of truth itself.
The all-star cast includes Emmy Rossum as the titular character, Martin Freeman, Hamish Linklater, Michael Angarano, Molly Ephraim, Philip Ettinger, Lukas Gage, Charlie Rowe, Alex Karpovsky, David Krumholtz, Antjuan Tobias, and Tonatiuh.
Best known for her role of Fiona Gallagher in the television series Shameless, some of her notable film credits include sci-fi film The Day After Tomorrow, The Phantom of the Opera, and Poseidon. Along with starring as Angelune, Rossum will executive produce via her Composition 8 company alongside Sam Esmail and his UCP-based EsmailCorp banner.
