Exclusive: Gabrielle Union, Keith Powers, and Gina Torres talk Numa Perrier’s The Perfect Find
Hitting Netflix on June 23 is the romantic drama The Perfect Find, directed by Numa Perrier and starring Gabrielle Union, Keith Powers, Aisha Hinds, DB Woodside, Janet Hubert, Alani “La La” Anthony and Gina Torres.
The film is adapted by Leigh Davenport from the novel of the same name by Tia Williams. The Perfect Find had its world premiere at the 2023 Tribeca Festival.
After a high-profile firing, Jenna’s (Gabrielle Union) fashion career comeback hits a snag when she falls for a charming, much younger coworker (Keith Powers) — who happens to be her boss’s son. As sparks fly, Jenna must decide if she'll risk it all on a secret romance.
Producers include Glendon Palmer, Gabrielle Union, Jeff Morrone, Codie Elaine Oliver, and Tommy Oliver.
Union, who also co-produced the film through her production company I’ll Have Another, also has her docuseries Gabrielle Union: My Journey to 50 out on BET+. She recently starred opposite Octavia Spencer in the third season of Apple TV+ series Truth Be Told. In 2022, she appeared in three films, Cheaper By The Dozen, The Inspection and the animated film Strange World. Union’s other TV and film credits include Being Mary Jane, Bring It On, Think Like A Man, Think Like A Man Too and LA’s Finest.
Powers is best known for his roles as Ronnie DeVoe in BET's miniseries The New Edition Story and Tyree in the film Straight Outta Compton. He also co-starred in Freeform’s Famous in Love and in the Netflix series What/If.
Torres currently stars as Tommy Vega on 9-1-1: Lone Star and also starred on ABC’s The Catch, NBC’s Hannibal, USA’s Suits and its spinoff Pearson, Firefly and its feature movie Serenity as well as the Matrix franchise movies.
