Exclusive: Agatha Christie’s Great-Grandson James Pritchard, composer Hildur Guđnadóttir & cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos talk A Haunting in Venice

Hitting theaters nationwide on Sept. 15 is A Haunting in Venice, once again directed by and starring Kenneth Branagh, director of Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile previously.

The thriller also stars Kyle Allen, Camille Cottin, Jamie Dornan, Tina Fey, Jude Hill, Ali Khan, Riccardo Scamarcio, Kelly Reilly, Emma Laird, and Oscar winner Michelle Yeoh. The film was produced by Kenneth Branagh, Judy Hofflund, Ridley Scott, and Simon Kinberg.

Based on Agatha Christie's Hallowe'en Party, A Haunting in Venice is set in eerie, post-World War II Venice on All Hallows' Eve. This follow-up to 2017's Murder on the Orient Express and 2022's Death on the Nile is a terrifying new mystery featuring the return of the celebrated sleuth, Hercule Poirot. Now retired and living in self-imposed exile in the world’s most glamorous city, Poirot reluctantly attends a séance at a decaying, haunted palazzo. When one of the guests is murdered, the detective is thrust into a sinister world of shadows and secrets.

Composer Hildur Guđnadóttir is an Academy Award-, Golden Globe-, Emmy-, two-time Grammy-, and BAFTA-winning Icelandic artist, whose latest projects included the critically acclaimed Sarah Polley film “Women Talking” and director Todd Field’s “TÁR.” Her work on the critically acclaimed HBO series “Chernobyl” won her a Primetime Emmy Award, as well as a Grammy Award. Guđnadóttir received the Academy Award, Golden Globe, BAFTA and Grammy for “Joker,” directed by Todd Phillips and starring Joaquin Phoenix.

Cinematographer Haris Zambarloukos and his collaborations with Kenneth Branagh are “Jack Ryan,” “Thor,” “Cinderella,” “Murder on the Orient Express” and “Belfast.” Zambarloukos and Kenneth Branagh received a best director cinematographer duo award at the Camerimage Cinematography Festival in 2018. He is vice president of the British Society of Cinematographers, a member of AMPAS, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and the European Film Academy.
