Exclusive: Janelle Monáe On Starring In Horror Film ‘Antebellum’
Coming out this week from Lionsgate is the compelling, highly anticipated horror film Antebellum, starring Janelle Monáe and written and directed by the advocacy filmmakers Gerard Bush and Christopher Renz. The film will premiere as a Premium On-Demand release, debuting on all platforms on September 18. The film will also be released theatrically in select international markets.
In Antebellum, successful author Veronica Henley (Janelle Monáe) finds herself trapped in a horrifying reality that forces her to confront the past, present and future – before it’s too late.
Monáe stars opposite Kiersey Clemons, Jena Malone, Jack Huston, Gabourey Sidibe, Marque Richardson, Eric Lange, Tongayi Chirisa, Robert Aramayo, & Lily Cowles.
For Monáe, she’s having a fantastic year in 2020 on the big and small screen. Earlier this year, she had a leading role in the Amazon series Homecoming and will also appear opposite Julianne Moore in The Glorias. BlackFilmandTV.com correspondent Sidnee Michelle spoke with Monáe about the role.
