Exclusive: John Wick: Chapter 4 cast interviews with Keanu Reeves, Shamier Anderson and Hiroyuki Sanada

Playing in theaters nationwide from Lionsgate is the action-thriller John Wick: Chapter 4, directed by Chad Stahelski and starring Keanu Reeves, Donnie Yen, Bill Skarsgård, Laurence Fishburne, Hiroyuki Sanada, Shamier Anderson, Lance Reddick (in one of his final roles), Rina Sawayama, Scott Adkins, and Ian McShane.

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) uncovers a path to defeating The High Table. But before he can earn his freedom, Wick must face off against a new enemy with powerful alliances across the globe and forces that turn old friends into foes.

Sanada plays Shimazu Koji, the manager of the Osaka Continental Hotel and an old friend of John Wick, while Anderson comes in as the Tracker / Mr. Nobody, a bounty hunter pursuing Wick.

Although he has a good amount of TV and film credits, this has to be Shamier Anderson’s biggest role that brings him international visibility. The the brother of fellow actor Stephan James, Anderson was recently seen in the Netflix films Away and Stoway and starred opposite Oscar winner Halle Berry in her directorial debut Bruised. He also has a main role in the Apple TV+ series Invasion. When he’s not on the screen, Anderson, James and their youngest brother Sheldon James co-founded the Bay Mills Investment Group, Canada’s first Black-owned venture capital firm dedicated to BIPOC entrepreneurs.

Sanada was last seen in Sony’s Bullet Train opposite Brad Pitt. Among the credits for the Japanese-born actor are Netflix’s Army of the Dead, New Line’s Mortal Kombat, HBO’s Westworld, and 47 Ronin, where he first co-starred with Reeves.

Blackfilmandtv.com’s Wilson Morales spoke with Reeves, Anderson and Sanada on their involvement with John Wick: Chapter 4.
