Exclusive: Laurence Fishburne talks working with Liam Neeson in The Ice Road
Coming out this week on Netflix is the action adventure film The Ice Road, starring Liam Neeson, Benjamin Walker, Amber Midthunder, Marcus Thomas and Laurence Fishburne. Written and directed by Jonathan Hensleigh, the film hits the streamer on June 25, 2021.
After a remote diamond mine collapses in far northern Canada, a ‘big-rig’ ice road driver (Neeson) must lead an impossible rescue mission over a frozen ocean to save the trapped miners. Contending with thawing waters and a massive storm, they discover the real threat is one they never saw coming. Fishburne will plays Goldenrod, the trucking company owner who hires driver Mike (Neeson), and accompanies him on the dangerous mission.
For Fishburne, who recently won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Actor in a Short Form Comedy or Drama Series for his performance in the Quibi series #Freerayshawn, this film presented him the coldest weather he’s ever worked in and sharing screen time with Liam Neeson.
