Exclusive: Maya Rudolph And Tim Meadows On Working With Former SNL Castmate Adam Sandler In Netflix’s ‘Hubie Halloween’
Coming to Netflix on Oct. 7 is ‘Hubie Halloween,’ a hilarious family film starring Adam Sandler as an unlikely hero with an all-star cast including Kevin James, Julie Bowen, Ray Liotta, Rob Schneider, June Squibb, Kenan Thompson, Shaquille O’Neal, Michael Chiklis, Tim Meadows, Karan Brar, George Wallace, Noah Schnapp, Paris Berelc, China Anne McClain, Ben Stiller with Steve Buscemi and Maya Rudolph.
Steven Brill directed the film from a script written by Tim Herlihy and Sandler.
Hubie Dubois (Adam Sandler) thanklessly spends every Halloween making sure the residents of his hometown, Salem, celebrate safely and play by the rules. But this year, an escaped criminal and a mysterious new neighbor have Hubie on high alert. When people start disappearing, it’s up to Hubie to convince the police (Kevin James, Kenan Thompson) and townsfolk that the monsters are real, and only he can stop them.
For former Saturday Night Live alumni Rudolph and Meadows, the both of them are no strangers to appearing in films by their former Saturday Night Live castmates. Whether it’s working with Adam Sandler, Kristen Wiig, Will Forte, Andy Samberg and others in films like Grown Up, MacGruber, Bridesmaids, Semi-Pro, Sisters and Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping each are always ready to come in and provide a barrel of laughs.
In speaking with BlackFilmandTV.com’s Wilson Morales, the two gifted comedians spoke about working with Sandler and injecting their own humor to the already funny script.
