Exclusive: Peyton Elizabeth Lee talks Disney+ Film ‘Secret Society of Second Born Royals’
Coming out this week (Sept. 25) on Disney+ is the fantasy superhero film Secret Society of Second-Born Royals, directed by Anna Mastro from a script written by Alex Livak and Andrew Green.
Secret Society of Second-Born Royals follows Sam (Peyton Elizabeth Lee), a teenage royal rebel second in line to the throne of the kingdom of Illyria. Just as Sam’s disinterest in the royal way of life is at an all-time high, she discovers she has super-human abilities and is invited to join a secret society of similar extraordinary second-born royals charged with keeping the world safe. With guidance from their Secret Society instructor James, Sam and a new class of royal recruits must first learn to harness their new powers at a top-secret training camp before they can save the world.
The film stars Peyton Elizabeth Lee (Andi Mack) as Sam, Skylar Astin (Pitch Perfect films) as Professor James Morrow, Elodie Yung (Gods of Egypt, Daredevil) as Catherine, Niles Fitch (This Is Us) as Tuma, Ashley Liao (Fuller House) as Eleanor, Isabella Blake-Thomas (Once Upon a Time) as January, Faly Rokotohavana as Matteo, and Olivia Deeble (Home and Away) as Roxana.
For Lee, who is best known for the title character in the Disney Channel series Andi Mack, and voicing a role on Disney Junior’s The Lion Guard, this is her first big role on film.
BlackFilmandTV.com’s Wilson Morales recently spoke with Lee about the film and she relates to the character.
