Exclusive: Samira Wiley On Her 2020 Emmy Nomination For Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale

Among the Emmy nominees this year for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in Samira Wiley for his role as Moira Strand in The Handmaid’s Tale. This is her third nomination for the same role, but second in this category. She won the Emmy in 2018 for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series. Including the nominations for Primetime Creative Arts, The Handmaid’s Tale received 10 nominations in total.

Wiley is also best known for her starring role as Poussey Washington in the Netflix comedy-drama series Orange Is the New Black. Her film credits include The Sitter, 37, Nerve, Detroit, and Social Animals. She also narrated the Netflix documentary Night on Earth. She will next be seen in HBO Max’s upcoming four-part docuseries on the LGBTQ+ movement, Equal.
