Exclusive: Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot interviews with Nika King, First Lady Bishop, & Demetrius Grosse, & Bishop W.C. Martin

Hitting theaters on July 4th from Angel Studios is the inspirational story Sound of Hope: The Story of Possum Trot, directed by Joshua Weigel and starring Nika King, Demetrius Grosse, Elizabeth Mitchell, Diaana Babnicova, Jillian Reeves, Carlos Aviles, and Sarah Hudson.

Written and produced by Joshua Weigel and Rebekah Weigel, the film was executive produced by Tiffany FitzHenry, Nika King, Joe Knittig, Don Mandrik, and Letitia Wright.

SOUND OF HOPE: THE STORY OF POSSUM TROT is inspired by the powerful true story of Donna and Bishop Martin, as they ignite a fire in the hearts of their rural church to embrace kids in the foster system that nobody else would take.  By doing the impossible - adopting 77 children - this East Texas community proved that, with real, determined love, the battle for America’s most vulnerable can be won.

A comedian and a dynamic actress, Nika King is best known for her breakout role playing Leslie on the Emmy winning HBO series Euphoria opposite Zendaya and Storm Reid. King’s comedy has landed her roles on Kevin Hart’s Guide to Black, the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal, Canada and hosting Nika King & Friends, a monthly show at the Improv Lab in Hollywood CA. She has also act, wrote and produced on award winning web-series Funny Married Stuff, which is currently streaming on KweliTV.

A veteran of many TV and film projects, Demetius Grosse had a recurring role in AMC's Fear The Walking Dead. He also had a featured role in the Paramount's Bodycam, and was recurring on Lovecraft Country for HBO, as well as Swagger for Apple+, executive produced by Reggie Bythewood and Kevin Durant. Previously he was a series regular on NBC’s The Brave. He also had a recurring role on Netflix’s FRONTIER. He had a role in 13 Hours for Michael Bay and Paramount.  He was also a series regular on NBC’s Game of Silence. Prior to that, Demetrius had a 13-episode arc on FX’s Justified and was a series regular on Cinemax’s Banshee. Demetrius starred in the Hallmark romantic comedy Spring Breakthrough, which was wide-released as a flagship production under Hallmark's Mahogany banner. Grosse is currently shooting Marvel's upcoming Wonderman for Disney+.
