Exclusive: The Wonder Years Season 2 Cast Interviews with Elisha “EJ” Williams, Dulé Hill, Saycon Sengbloh, & Laura Kariuki

Premiering June 14 on ABC is the second season of the its acclaimed TV series, The Wonder Years, starring Elisha “EJ” Williams, Dulé Hill, Saycon Sengbloh, & Laura Kariuki.

Inspired by the beloved award-winning series of the same name, “The Wonder Years” is an original coming-of-age comedy that tells the story of the Williams family during the late 1960s, spotlighting the ups and downs of growing up in a Black middle-class family in Montgomery, Alabama, and the friendship, laughter and lessons along the way. 

The Peabody Award-winning series stars Don Cheadle, narrating the series as Adult Dean Williams, Elisha “EJ” Williams as Dean Williams, Dulé Hill as Bill Williams, Saycon Sengbloh as Lillian Williams, Laura Kariuki as Kim Williams, Julian Lerner as Brad Hitman, Amari O’Neil as Cory Long and Milan Ray as Keisa Clemmons.

Lee Daniels, Saladin K. Patterson, Bob Daily and Jacque Edmonds Cofer serve as executive producers. Patterson also serves as showrunner. The series is produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Television Studios. All season one episodes are available to stream on Hulu.

Among the guest stars schedule to appear in Season 2 are Phoebe Robinson, Patti Labelle, Tituss Burgess, Donald Faison, Malcolm-Jamal Warner, and Bradley Whitford. Robinson guest stars as Jackie, Lillian’s sister and Kim & Dean’s favorite aunt. Tituss Burgess guest stars as a drag performer with Southern roots that Dean and Bill meet in New York City.

Patti Labelle guest stars as Bill’s mom, Mother Williams. The choir director at church, she’s as sweet as can be until someone hits the wrong notes. Donald Faison guest stars as Cliff’s (Allen Maldonado) frat brother, Terrence, who is also a real estate agent. Bradley Whitford guest stars as Dennis Van Der Kamp, Dean’s music teacher who surprises Bill with his knowledge about the jazz music scene.
