Exclusive: Tobi Bamtefa and executive producer/ actor Hugh Dillon talk Mayor of Kingstown
Currently airing on Paramount+ is the first season of Mayor Of Kingstown from Academy Award nominee and “Yellowstone” co-creator Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon.
MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN follows the McLusky family – power brokers in Kingstown, Mich., where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.
MAYOR OF KINGSTOWN features an all-star cast including Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner, Academy Award winner Dianne Wiest, Emmy Award winner Kyle Chandler, Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird and Tobi Bamtefa.
For Dillon, who also serves as an executive producer, he can also be seen as Sheriff Haskell on Sheridan’s Yellowstone. His other recent acting credits include Twin Peaks and The Expanse. Bamtefa, who plays local gang leader Deverin "Bunny" Washington, was most recently seen in The Girlfriend Experience, The Witcher and Berlin Station.
BlackFilmandTV.com’s Wilson Morales recently caught up with Bamtefa and Dillon as they talked about their roles and Dillon pulling double duty in front and behind the scene.
