Exclusive: True Detective: Night Country interviews with Jodie Foster, Kali Reis and showrunner Issa Lopez
Hitting HBO on SUNDAY, JANUARY 14 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT) and available to stream on Max is the fourth installment of the True Detective anthology series, True Detective: Night Country. The six-episode HBO Original drama series stars Academy Award-winner and Emmy-nominated Jodie Foster and Kali Reis.
When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace. To solve the case, Detectives Liz Danvers (Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Reis) will have to confront the darkness they carry in themselves, and dig into the haunted truths that lie buried under the eternal ice.
The supporting cast includes Finn Bennett, Fiona Shaw, Christopher Eccleston, Isabella Star LaBlanc, John Hawkes, Anna Lambe, Aka Niviâna, and Joel D. Montgrand.

A two-time Academy Award winner for Best Actress (1988’s The Accused and 1991’s The Silence of the Lambs), Foster was last seen opposite Annette Bening in NYAD.
A former professional boxer and world champion, Reis made her acting debut as the star of the American thriller film, Catch the Fair One, for which she also received story credit. For her performance as a boxer endeavoring to rescue her missing sister, Reis was nominated for Best Female Lead at the 37th Independent Spirit Awards
