James Roday, Dulé Hill & Maggie Lawson Talk Peacock’s Psych 2: Lassie Come Home
Launching today on NBC’s streaming platform Peacock is Psych 2: Lassie Comes Home, featuring the return of James Roday and Dulé Hill’s Shawn and Gus. The film is the second one after the series finale aired in 2014. Psych: The Movie aired in 2017.
The film will follow the original duo alongside Kristen Nelson’s Chief Karen Vick, Maggie Lawson (Lethal Weapon)’s Juliet O’Hara and Corbin Bernsen (The Punisher)’s Henry Spencer. It will also feature Scrubs alum Sarah Chalke, Community alum Joel McHale and Westworld actor Jimmi Simpson.
Santa Barbara Police Chief Carlton Lassiter (Timothy Omundson) is ambushed on the job and left for dead. In a vintage Psych-style Hitchcockian nod, he begins to see impossible happenings around his recovery clinic. Shawn (James Roday) and Gus (Dulé Hill) return to Lassie’s side in Santa Barbara and are forced to navigate the personal, the professional, and possibly the supernatural. Separated from their new lives in San Francisco, our heroes find themselves unwelcome in their old stomping grounds as they secretly untangle a twisted case without the benefit of the police, their loved ones, or the quality sourdough bakeries of the Bay Area. What they uncover will change the course of their relationships forever. Psych 2 is a full-length film.
BlackFilmandTV spoke with Roday, Hill and Lawson about coming back for another reunion film.
