Coke Daniels’ indie suspense thriller Karen hitting theaters On Aug. 13
Now playing in select theaters is writer-director Coke Daniels’ indie suspense thriller ‘Karen,’ starring Orange Is The New Black alum Taryn Manning, Cory Hardrict and Jasmine Burke. The film is showing at the Plaza Theatre in Atlanta this weekend only, August 13-15. The film will also release video-on-demand on Friday, September 3, and will air on BET on Tuesday, September 14.
A hot yet controversial topic, Karen follows a racist White woman (Manning) who makes it her mission to displace the new Black family who just moved into the neighborhood. Accustomed to having her way, Karen isn’t prepared for the family who is determined not to back down without a fight.
Hardrict stars as Malik, a community activist in Atlanta dedicated to his wife Imani (Burke) and fighting social injustices.
Also featured in the film are Gregory Alan Williams, V. Bozeman and Duane Finley.
