Deadline is reporting that Cory Hardrict is set to executive produce and star opposite Miguel Angel Garcia in the indie thriller Die Like a Man.

Eric Nazarian is writing and directing the pic, which is the first part of a street trilogy revolving around themes of masculinity, violence, and gentrification in 21st century America. Javier Chapa, Tommy Oliver and Sean Burke will produce.

The film centers on Freddy, who on his 16th birthday, is given a Magnum .44, a few bullets, and orders to take out his mentor's rival, a rehabilitated gangster. Will he succeed or "die like a man" with a gun in his hand?

Hardrict portrays a recently paroled west side gangster who after serving a decade behind bars, he returns to his old west LA neighborhood, now gentrified and redeveloped. All His friends are dead and moved on and his only anchor is training his best friend’s son in the ill-fated codes of masculinity on the street that lead to devastating consequences.

Hardrict can currently be seen in the latest season of Showtime’s The Chi and will have a regular role in The CW’s All American: Homecoming, a spinoff series from All American. His film credits include Clint Eastwood’s American Sniper and Gran Torino as well as Battle Los Angeles, Netflix’s Brotherly Love, and Rod Lurie’s The Outpost, which he also executive produced. He will be seen opposite Orange Is The New Black alum Taryn Manning in Coke Daniels’ indie suspense thriller Karen, which hits streaming platforms and theaters in August.
