Entertainment Squad Picks Up Writer-Director Chris Chalk’s 'Our Deadly Vows'
THR reports that among the three titles Entertainment Squad has acquired the domestic rights from production and sales agency Global Genesis Group was Our Deadly Vows, written and directed by actor Chris Chalk.
Starring Chalk (Perry Mason, 12 Years a Slave, When They See Us) alongside K.D. Chalk, Ashlei Sharpe, Cesa Pledger, Eden Marryshow, Chantal Nchako, Byron Bronson and Natalie Woolams-Torres, Our Deadly Vows follows a couple celebrating their one year anniversary with friends before bidding them farewell…perhaps forever.
In the spirit of Get Out and Nope, OUR DEADLY VOWS tells the story of four couples celebrating a party for Grace and Chance who are moving to Spain. But the other three couples have serious relationship issues, and the fighting evolves into murder when the lifelong friend start getting killed one by one immediately after receiving gift boxes that reveal their past sins. It’s up to the survivors to either escape or find the killer and take them out before they are all dead.
Global Genesis Group is a sales agent for feature films, television series and documentaries as well as creating and producing its own original IP’s to generate global branding. Recent productions include BET+ originals Blossom, Unfinished, and the Lifetime original You Can Never Go Home Again.
Entertainment Squad is a boutique distribution company founded by industry veteran Berenson. Previous releases include Lili Taylor’s mental-health comedy/drama Paper Spiders and Tribeca’s Audience Award-winner Cherry.
