Exclusive: Isaach de Bankolé To Reprise Role In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
With production having started on Marvel’s Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in Atlanta’s Pinewood Studios, BlackFilmandTV.com has exclusively learned that Isaach de Bankolé will be reprising his role as one of the Elders from the River Tribe. He joins returning cast members Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett and newcomers Tenoch Huerta and Michaela Coel. In ‘Black Panther’ the he was among those who attended the coronation of T'Challa. He’s also a member of the council.
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled for release in the United States on July 8, 2022.
Ryan Coogler is returning to direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with Joe Robert Cole.
de Bankolé is best known for his work on three of Claire Denis‘ films and four of Jim Jarmusch‘s films, including Night on Earth, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, Coffee and Cigarettes, and The Limits of Control. He was most recently seen in 2019’s Shaft with Samuel L. Jackson and 2020’s French Exit opposite Michelle Pfeiffer.
Black Panther is scheduled to hit U.S. theaters on February 16, 2018.
