First Look at Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz’s Comeback Film in Netflix’s Back In Action
During Netflix's Upfront presentation today in New York City, the streamer announced that the Jamie Foxx-Cameron Diaz action comedy BACK IN ACTION will be released on November 15, 2024. New images were also released.
The duo plays Emily and Matt, former CIA agents who gave up the spy life to start a family, but wind up … well, back in action after their cover is blown.
It’s Diaz first film in 10 years. Her her last film debuted in 2014 when she starred alongside Jamie Foxx in the musical adaptation, “Annie.”

Production was impacted last year when Jamie Foxx was hospitalised suddenly for a major medical emergency. He has since said he is "thankful" to have survived such an "unexpected dark journey".
“Horrible Bosses” filmmaker Seth Gordon, who also recently helmed two episodes of Netflix’s breakout hit series “The Night Agent,” directs and co-writes with Brendan O’Brien. Alongside Diaz and Foxx, the cast also includes Kyle Chandler, Glenn Close, Andrew Scott, Jamie Demetriou, McKenna Roberts and Rylan Jackson.
