Writer-Director Jevon Boreland’s Psychological Thriller ‘Welcome’ Now Playing On VOD Platforms
Currently playing on VOD platforms (Prime & Apple TV amongst others) from Breaking Glass Pictures is the psychological thriller ‘Welcome,’ written, directed and executive produced by Jevon Boreland and starring Shailene Garnett, Emidio Lopes, Emmanuel Kabongo, and Brianna Goldie.
The film was produced by Toronto-based Dark Wolf Pictures in association with House Boreland Productions. It follows a couple whose romantic getaway turns into a fight for survival when a past life comes back to haunt them.
Learning they are about to become parents, Darren (Emidio Lopes) and Sasha (Shailene Garnett) celebrate with a weekend in the country. When they need assistance with a problem on the property, the all-too-helpful landlord, Eric (Emmanuel Kabongo), arrives with his wife, Millie (Brianna Goldie), to fix the issue, deliberately overstaying their welcome. The once romantic getaway quickly turns into a deadly night of survival for everyone.
Producers are Mark Taylor, Patricia Rastrullo, Kijhai Boreland and Anthony Hunos. Welcome had its U.S. premiere at the 2025 Pan African Film Festival in L.A. and screened at the Toronto Black Film Festival in February.
