Marija Juliette Abney and John Clarence Stewart to star in Tubi’s A Killer Romance
Set to play on Tubi on May 26 is A Killer Romance, starring Marija Juliette Abney and John Clarence Stewart.
Written and directed by Tony Glazer, the cast also includes Christian Campbell, Manny Perez, Dave Shalansky, Darlene Dues, Jeremiah Clarke, and Summer Crockett Moore.
Believing his wife Suzie is keeping a secret from him, Rafer Bennett follows her to a bar and discovers a deadly secret: Suzie is a serial killer who targets predatory men. Initially, the discovery brings Rafer and Suzie closer together – until Rafer reveals he’s also a serial killer who kills people for money. Feeling betrayed by Rafer’s secret, Suzie begins questioning his morals, and the couple must decide if they can work out their differences before they turn on each other.
Marija Juliette Abney played one of the Dora Milaje, Wakanda’s all female elite military force, in Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. A dancer and theater actress, she was featured as “The Cheetah” in Disney’s The Lion King, performed in FOX Searchlight’s Black Nativity, and Broadway’s After Midnight and The Cher Show.
Stewart was last seen playing Big Teak in Starz’s P-Valley. His biggest role was in NBC’s Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist and starred opposite Renée Zellweger in the Netflix anthology series What/If. Prior to that, he recurred as Alex Wesley on both seasons of the Netflix/Marvel series Luke Cage. His other TV credits include Hawaii Five-0, The Good Fight, Blue Bloods, The Mysteries of Laura, Gotham, and 9-1-1: Lone Star.
