Morris Chestnut to host Dave Brown’s Indie Night Film Festival in Atlanta in June
Dave Brown, Founder and CEO of Indie Night Film Festival, is excited to announce that actor Morris Chestnut will be joining him in Atlanta, Georgia to co-host the highly anticipated Indie Night Film Festival, a monthly film showcase.
Celebrated actor Morris Chestnut, a two-time NAACP Image Award winner for his remarkable contributions to the entertainment industry through his numerous roles, and undeniable talent, is excited to join Indie Night.
The weekly film festival, founded by Brown in 2012, is a unique opportunity for both established and up-and-coming filmmakers to showcase their work. The festival has included Short Films, Web Series, Trailers, Documentaries, Monologues, and Full Feature Films has helped elevate some of the industry’s most talented artists.
The festival will be open to all, and Dave Brown is encouraging creatives, regardless of experience level, to submit their projects for consideration.
The inaugural premiere will take place on June 11, 2023 in Atlanta, Georgia, at the Plaza Theatre, located at 1049 Ponce de Leon, Atlanta, GA, 30306.
“I started this festival to bring attention to the lack of diversity in film,” said Brown. “This event is a chance to spotlight all types of talent, regardless of tax bracket. I’m excited to bring this to Atlanta, the home of my alma mater, Morehouse College”

ABOUT THE FOUNDER – Dave Brown:
Dave Brown is known to the creative community as an actor and champion of all indie creators. He has made it his mission to reach back and give the underdog a platform to showcase their art.
Brown was raised by his parents in San Francisco, California. His father is a respected civil rights activist, and San Francisco pastor, Dr. Amos C Brown. His lineage instilled in him the importance of being a servant leader by helping others.
His passion for acting began in 1992 when Brown graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia. While in the peach state, he became friends with future Hollywood staple, Morris Chestnut. The actor gave him advice, insight on the industry, and they built a brotherhood and remained friends first.
Dave is a visionary and turned his life experiences as an entertainer into a project that uplifts other entertainers when he created Indie Night in 2012. What started as a small gathering has turned into a weekly showing of projects from various filmmakers. The Los Angeles festival is currently located at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, California.
Dave's incredible knack for networking has garnered him not only business connections but also genuine relationships with industry heavyweights such as casting director, Robi Reed, actor Jamie Foxx, and producer Datari Turner. These titans have become long-standing supporters of Dave and the Indie Night Film Festival.
