New Tubi Tech and Content Initiative with Issa Rae/ColorCreative

Tubi, the #1 AVOD in the US with a vast library of over 240,000 movies and television episodes is announcing Stubios - a fan-fueled studio and viewer-first platform for aspiring filmmakers and their fans. As an industry disruptor, Stubios passes the camera to anyone who has a story to tell and puts the power to greenlight in the hands of the viewer. \

As part of the beta program, three creatives selected by Tubi called “Stubiorunners” will have their projects go live on the web app later this May.  Tubi, in partnership with Issa Rae and her management and production company ColorCreative will provide both mentorship and resources for the first four Stubiorunners in their filmmaking process.

About Stubios:

  • About Stubiorunners: Four talented Stubiorunners will be the first to debut their projects to showcase what Stubios is all about from interactive fan engagement including behind-the-scenes access to the filmmaking process where fans help influence everything from casting to greenlighting the next project.

    • The additional four selected creators reflect the future of independent long form creators who come from various backgrounds and genres, across different mediums like WattPad and TikTok.

  • Issa Rae/ColorCreative Partnership: The initiative is in partnership with actress and entrepreneur Issa Rae and her production company ColorCreative, which was founded to empower creators to reach their greatest potential by disrupting the creative industries and championing innovative and inclusive content.

    • Issa Rae and ColorCreative will serve as mentors for the “Stubiorunners” and will lend their expertise and resources toward the development of their respective projects that will debut on Tubi later this year.

  • Fan Engagement: Fans can access Stubios for free via a Tubi registration on the Tubi app on mobile or on web browsers. Once registered, they can explore different Stubios and follow to support creatives and their projects from sharing behind the scenes photos and poll fans to get their opinion on everything from casting to costuming in addition to selecting the next project to be greenlit.
