Poster To David Cronenberg’s Crimes of the Future
NEON has released the poster for writer/director David Cronenberg’s new film Crimes of the Future, which will open in theaters in June.
Crimes of the Future, which will premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, has been rated R for strong disturbing violent content and grisly images, graphic nudity, and some language. The cast includes Viggo Mortensen, Léa Seydoux, Kristen Stewart, Scott Speedman, Welket Bungué, Don McKellar, Yorgos Pirpassopoulos, Tanaya Beatty, Nadia Litz, Lihi Kornowski, and Denise Capezza.
As the human species adapts to a synthetic environment, the body undergoes new transformations and mutations. With his partner Caprice (Léa Seydoux), Saul Tenser (Viggo Mortensen), celebrity performance artist, publicly showcases the metamorphosis of his organs in avant-garde performances. Timlin (Kristen Stewart), an investigator from the National Organ Registry, obsessively tracks their movements, which is when a mysterious group is revealed... Their mission –to use Saul’s notoriety to shed light on the next phase of human evolution.
The film is the fourth collaboration between producer Robert Lantos (Eastern Promises, eXistenZ, Crash) and Cronenberg. Steve Solomos (Possessor) is co-producer, and Panos Papahadzis (Knifer, Stratus) is co-producer for Athens-based Argonauts Productions. The executive producers include Joe Iacono, Aida Tannyan, Peter Touche, Christelle Conan, Tom Quinn, Jeff Deutchman, Christian Parkes, and Thorsten Schumacher.
