Release Date for George Foreman Biopic Moves to April 2023

Deadline reports that Sony Pictures is moving its Affirm release of the George Foreman Biopic from March 31 next year to April 28. George Tillman Jr. directs off a screenplay he co-wrote with Frank Baldwin. Screen story was penned by Dan Gordon and Baldwin & Tillman Jr.

The film stars Khris Davis as Foreman, Jasmine Mathews, John Magaro, Sullivan Jones, Lawrence Gilliard Jr., Sonja Sohn, Shein Mompremier and Forest Whitaker.

The untitled George Foreman biopic follows the boxer’s life and times, from Olympic Gold medalist to World Heavyweight champion, the Rumble in the Jungle fight with Muhammad Ali in Zaire, to finding his faith, retiring and becoming a preacher. When financial hardship hits his family and church, he steps back in the ring and regains the championship at age 45, the oldest heavyweight champion in boxing history.

Producers are David Zelon and Peter Guber. EPs are George Foreman and Wendy Williams.
