Hitting theaters on March 3 from Small Batch Studio Entertainment is writer-director Stephen Belber’s What We Do Next, starring Corey Stoll, Karen Pittman, and Michelle Veintimilla.
When Elsa Mercado (Michelle Veintimilla) is released from prison after serving 16 years for killing her father, New York City Councilwoman Sandy James (Karen Pittman) and corporate attorney Paul Jenkins (Corey Stoll) are forced to grapple with their involvement in the original crime. WHAT WE DO NEXT is a timely emotional thriller sitting at the intersection of race, class and criminal justice.
Merry-Kay Poe’s Unbridled Films (Don’t Tell A Soul), Chris Mangano’s Movies & Media (Standing Up, Falling Down, Don’t Tell A Soul), and Max Neace produced the film. Brian Tanke, Stephen Belber and Matt Bronson executive produced, and two-time Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage co-produced.
