Writer, director and producer Alana Barrett-Adkins’ Asunder now out on Digital Release
1091 Pictures in partnership with Rock Alari Studios is proud to announce the upcoming digital release of its latest feature film, “Asunder: One Flesh Divided.” Available to purchase or rent on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, the film brings a fresh perspective to the idea of what can drive a couple apart and the journey of trying to return from the brink of separation.
When we meet Ruth and Brandon five years into their marriage, it doesn't take long to realize that what may seem like the perfect life from the outside is beginning to show cracks. Ruth, the devoted daughter and driven career woman, feels unsupported in her marriage. Brandon, the successful and equally driven attorney is so focused on his ability to provide in the traditional sense that he is oblivious to his wife's needs. When Ruth finds comfort elsewhere, the college sweethearts find themselves at a crossroads ... And not for the first time. Will the faith that lies as the foundation of their love be enough to fix their fractured marriage? Or will outside forces he strong enough to put asunder what God has brought together?
Writer, director and producer Alana Barrett-Adkins convincingly tortured performance as Ruth makes it nearly impossible for viewers not to feel for Asunder’s flawed leading lady. Her co-star N’Fa Thomas’ carefully metered portrayal of Brandon slowly mines the audience's compassion.
