First Look Teaser To Onyx Collective’s Hulu Series ‘Reasonable Doubt’
Executive Producer and Director Kerry Washington released us a first look at Onyx Collective's new legal drama "Reasonable Doubt," premiering Tuesday, September 27, only on Hulu.
In "Reasonable Doubt," you’ll judge Jax Stewart (Emayatzy Corinealdi) for her questionable ethics and wild interpretations of the law… until you’re the one in trouble. Then you’ll see her for what she is: the most brilliant and fearless defense attorney in Los Angeles who bucks the justice system at every chance she gets.
Michael Ealy, Tim Jo, McKinley Freeman, Angela Grovey, Thadeus J. Mixson and newcomer Aderinsola Olabode are set as series regulars with Pauletta Washington, Victor Rasuk, Eugene Byrd and Sean Patrick Thomas tapped for key recurring roles opposite Corinealdi.
Freeman will appear as Lewis, said to be the man your mama meets once and asks about forever. Lewis is Jax’s husband, the father of their two children, a successful video game designer and a genuinely good guy. Lewis understands that he’s married to a complicated woman and the two of them share a good-humored, strongly bonded connection, though at times he craves something deeper which she doesn’t seem emotionally capable of giving.
Ealy will play Damon. Giving OG prison bae vibes, Damon isn’t someone you should look at too long unless you are trying to get into trouble. Complex, smart, troubled, Damon is a former client of Jax’s who’s been in prison for sixteen years for a murder he didn’t commit.
Raamla Mohamed leads the show’s all-Black writers room and executive produces alongside Kerry Washington and Pilar Savone for Simpson Street and Larry Wilmore via Wilmore Films. Washington also directs the first episode. The series is the first scripted drama from Onyx Collective and is produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios.
