Trailer & Posters To Euphoria Special Episode
HBO has released the poster and trailer for the first new Euphoria episode, entitled “Rue,” which is set to premiere on December 6 at 9pm.
Series creator Sam Levinson wrote and directed the first episode (under COVID-19 guidelines), previously titled “Trouble Don’t Last Always,” which will also feature Colman Domingo. The episode synopsis reads as follows:
“In the aftermath of being left by Jules at the train station and relapsing, the first special episode follows Rue (played by Emmy-winner Zendaya) as she celebrates Christmas.”
The series stars Zendaya (Spider-Man: Far From Home) who heads the ensemble cast of the show, which follows a group of high school students as they navigate a minefield of drugs, sex, identity, trauma, social media, love and friendship.
The series follows 17-year-old Rue Bennett (Zendaya), a drug addict fresh from rehab, who’s struggling to make sense of her future. Her life changes dramatically when she meets Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer), a girl who recently moved to town following her parents’ divorce, and like Rue is searching for where she belongs.
The cast for the first season of Euphoria includes Zendaya, Maude Apatow, Angus Cloud, Eric Dane, Alexa Demie, Jacob Elordi, Barbie Ferreira, Nika King, Storm Reid, Hunter Schafer, Algee Smith and Sydney Sweeney.
Back in September, Zendaya became the youngest person to win an Emmy for best lead actress in a drama for her work on the show. “Euphoria” was nominated for six categories in total, taking home awards in contemporary makeup and original music and lyrics in addition to Zendaya’s win.
