Trailer & Key Art to Season 5 of Grown-ish

Freeform has released the trailer and key art to Grown-ish Season 5, premiering Wednesday, July 20, at 10pm EDT

“black-ish” star Marcus Scribner heads over to join his TV sister Yara Shahidi on the Freeform spinoff, reprising his role as Andre Johnson Jr. as he embarks on his own journey to being “grown.”

Zoey returns to Cal U to support Junior’s first day on campus but soon realizes that she may be missing her Cal U days more than she let on. After meeting his new classmates, Junior seeks to escape dorm life by attending Doug’s White Party.

Six original cast members — Francia Raisa (Ana), Emily Arlook (Nomi), Chloe Bailey (Jazz), Luka Sabbat (Luca), Halle Bailey (Sky), Jordan Buhat (Vivek) — will not be returning for Season 5. Trevor Jackson (Aaron), Diggy Simmons (Doug) will be back, joining Shahidi and Scribner.

Daniella Perkins, who recurred as the character in Season 4 of Freeform's grown-ish, has been promoted to series regular for the upcoming fifth season.

Additionally, Matthew Sato, Tara Raani, Justine Skye, Amelie Zilber, Ceyair Wright and Slick Woods have joined the cast.

Award-winning playwright and producer Zakiyyah Alexander (“Russian Doll,” “La Brea”) and “black-ish” executive producer and showrunner Courtney Lilly will come on board as co-showrunners. Grown-ish season 5 is produced by ABC Signature Studios and is executive produced by Kenya Barris, Zakiyyah Alexander, Courtney Lilly, Craig Doyle, Yara Shahidi, Anthony Anderson, Laurence Fishburne, Helen Sugland, E. Brian Dobbins and Michael Petok. The series is produced by ABC Signature. Barris co-created the series with Larry Wilmore.
