Filmed at the Walker Theatre in his hometown of Indianapolis, with an audience that includes the Mayor, the Indiana Pacers, and his criminal lawyer since 1992, Mike Epps returns for his third hour-long Netflix comedy special. Epps exclaims what he loves about Indiana, his parents’ legacy and much more.
“I am excited to not only film my Netflix special in my hometown, but also at the historic Madam Walker Theatre where there is so much Black history. It’s only right that I shine a light on my city," Epps said in a news release.
Known for his roles in "The Hangover," "The Hangover Part III," "Next Friday," "Friday After Next," "Resident Evil: Apocalypse" and "Resident Evil: Extinction," Epps can currently be seen on Netflix in "The Upshaws," where he stars alongside Wanda Sykes in the comedy series about a working-class Black family in Indiana. Netflix has already renewed the series for a second season.
Queens, NY native Johnson wrote and directed A Saturday Is A Terrible Thing To Waste, which he also starred in opposite of late great comedian Charlie Murphy. He has made films such as Tough, starring Tony Nominated actor John Earl Jelks and Olive, featuring MaameYaa Boafo and appeared in the films Anonymous, Amok and Trapped Inside Out.
Alfonso won top honors at the 2018 American Black Film Festival winning the HBO award for Best Short Film for Moths & Butterflies.
