Trailer To The Northman Starring Alexander Skarsgård & Nicole Kidman
Focus Features has released the first trailer for Robert Eggers’ epic Viking revenge thriller The Northman, which will debut in theaters on April 22, 2022.
The film stars Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Claes Bang, Anya Taylor-Joy, Gustav Lindh, Ethan Hawke, Björk, and Willem Dafoe.
The movie is described as “an epic revenge thriller that explores how far a Viking prince will go to seek justice for his murdered father.”
It's a story told through the eyes of Amleth (Skarsgård), who witnesses the murder of his father, King Aurvandil (Ethan Hawke), at the hands of his uncle, Fjolnir (Claes Bang). With his mother, Queen Gudrun (Nicole Kidman), captured, Amleth flees his native land and vows revenge on the one who took everything from him.
The movie was directed by Eggers (The Lighthouse, The Witch), who co-wrote the screenplay with Oscar nominee Sjón. The Northman is produced by Lars Knudson and Mark Huffam.
