30+ 2022 Holiday Original Movie Premieres On TV Starring Black Talent

There are at least 25 upcoming holiday films appearing on TV featuring a slew of Black talent in lead roles. Just about most cable channels from Lifetime, Hallmark, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, BET+, ION, Netflix, VH1, OWN, and Bounce have original holiday films premiering from Novemeber to December.

November 1st

Another Christmas starring Sheena Faust, Ryan Toby, Malik Brazile

Kelly Brooks (Faust) is an elementary school teacher who gave up on love until her childhood friend, Andrew (Brazile), a professional baseball player, returns home and invites Kelly to spend Christmas with his family. Every Christmas, Reilly Shore (Williams) picks a random spot on the map to take an adventurous trip. This year, that destination is the quaint hamlet of Mistletoe Lake. When 12-year-old Emma (Kragten) invites Reilly to stay on her dad's boat, she learns that Emma's dad, Raymond Mitchell (Sevier), is selling his boat and can't participate in the festival. The Dog Days of Christmas starring Georgia Flood, Ezekiel Simat

A Tiny Home Christmas starring Rebecca Dalton, Christopher Seivright

Scentsational Christmas starring Nanzeen Contractor, Mykee Selkin

Record Breaking Christmas starring Michelle Argyis, Andrew Bushell

Leah Hoffman (Argyis), an adjudicator for the World Record Bureau, draws the short straw and is forced to travel to a small town just before Christmas to investigate its plans to break multiple holiday world records. As she falls for the town's doctor, Devan Bancroft (Bushell), she discovers that the whole town is in cahoots, and she just may be the person who can help them reach their true Christmas goal.

December 16

Holiday Heritage starring Lyndie Greenwood, Brooks Darnell, Holly Robinson Peete

With the holidays approaching, Ella returns to Mary’s Town, North Carolina to convince Tess, her grandmother, and Micah, her mother, to heal past wounds in the family. The Snowball Effect starring Anjali Khurana, Landon Moss

Tara and Sam are meteorologists on rival small market networks, and they are both tracking a massive storm that’s set to dump unprecedented snow on the area in the next couple days. While they have two very different styles, they are both quite popular, so when a weatherman from the biggest network in the region walks off the job, they put their reporting, and their Christmas plans on hold to try and land the gig. The eccentric station manager offers each an in-person interview, but they’ll have to beat the storm if they want to be considered and make it home in time for Christmas. When they’re both stranded in a town called Mistletoe, they compete to turn in reports to land the job, but they also discover that the town lost its Christmas spirit when a popular rail line in the area was shut down. Feeling for the townspeople, and knowing that reviving a Christmas Village would make for a great story, Tara and Sam team up to save the town and land their dream jobs. The only question is: is there room for both of them in Mistletoe, and on air?
