Amazon Prime Video’s ‘Classified’ series, starring Imani Pullum, to premiere Aug 22
Coming to Amazon’s Prime Video on August 22 is the coming-of-age drama series called Classified, created by Kagiso Lediga and starring Imani Pullum, Christine Horne, and Sule Rimi.
Classified, a coming-of-age drama, follows 15-year-old Ella (Imani Pullum), a student in Oakland, California. Arrested at a protest and facing serious jail time, Ella avoids incarceration thanks to her stepmother, Dianne (Christine Horn), who has connections in high places. As part of the deal, Ella must leave her home in California and spend the remainder of her secondary education with her father (Sule Rimi) and Dianne in Johannesburg, South Africa. Ella’s world is turned upside down as she navigates a very different reality than the one she has known.
Horn will play Diane, Ella’s stepmother whose job for the U.S. State Department in South Africa is more than meets the eye.
Rimi portrays Ella’s father, Gabe, a celebrated author and cultural commentator who follows his wife, Dianne, to her new posting in South Africa.
The series is executive produced by Kagiso Lediga, Tamsin Andersson, Robert Kirkman, David Alpert, Rick Jacobs, Sean Furst, and Bryan Furst.
Most recently, Imani played the pivotal role of ‘Betsy,’ daughter to Will Smith’s character in the Antoine Fuqua-directed thriller, EMANCIPATION. Prior to that, Imani starred as ‘Topa’ in the third season of Seth MacFarlane’s THE ORVILLE: NEW HORIZONS, available on Hulu and Disney+.
