BET+ Renews The Ms. Pat Show For Season 5
BET+ has renewed its Emmy-nominated comedy series “The Ms. Pat Show” for a fifth season. BET Media Group has also extended its overall deal with Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams, inclusive of both linear and streaming projects.
Since its launch in August 2021, “The Ms. Pat Show” has captivated fans and critics with its unapologetically real, unapologetically Black, and unapologetically hilarious content.
“The Ms. Pat Show,” which lifts from Williams’ life experiences covered in her memoir “Rabbit: The Autobiography of Ms. Pat,” tells the story of a former drug dealer and convicted felon turned suburban mom. An updated version of the traditional TV comedy format, the series portrays a modern, multi-generational African American family navigating life’s twists and turns against the backdrop of current cultural chaos with an unfiltered realness. Complete with R-rated language and controversial episode topics including non-binary pronouns, abortion, black hair, school shootings, drug addiction, racism, and child abuse, “The Ms. PatShow” is a rethinking of the American sitcom.
Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams, J. Bernard Calloway, Tami Roman, Vince Swann, Briyana Guadalupe, Theodore John Barnes, and Brittany Inge are set to return as series regulars.
Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams, Jordan E. Cooper, Patrick Walsh, Lee Daniels, Brian Grazer, Deb Evans, Jon Radler, and Natalie Berkus will return to executive produce alongside Mary Lou Belli who will also direct.
Rose Catherine Pinkney will co-executive produce for BET+.
“The Ms. Pat Show” is produced by Imagine Television, DaeLight Media, and Lee Daniels Entertainment.
Production will begin in February 2025 and a premiere date will be announced at a later date.
In 2022, comedian, actress, and producer Patricia “Ms. Pat” Williams expanded her relationship with BET by signing a multi-year overall deal under which she will produce and perform in new series and other projects across BET such as the fan-favorite “Ms. Pat Settles It.”
