In Atlanta, in the 1990’s a complex web of personal stories unfolds. Paige, a promising Spelman sophomore, veers off her path to success when she falls for a "bad boy" just before the pivotal "Freaknik" event. Adulthood disrupts their lives, pulling Paige, her long-term boyfriend Malcolm, and newcomer Romeo into a series of challenges. Amidst Atlanta's global Olympic spotlight, eventual mayor Robert Dawn’s rise to power comes at the price of personal sacrifices and moral dilemmas. These interconnected stories set off a transformative chain reaction in the city, echoing Dante's words: "The road to hell is paved with good intentions."
AVA MONE’T as “Paige Dawn“: A beautiful young woman in the time of life when nothing could possibly go wrong—until it does. Paige works as a hairstylist alongside her mother, but she’s too quick and sharp to be tied to a salon chair forever.
DONOVAN CHRISTIE JR. as “Robert Dawn”: The ambitious councilman whose lofty aspirations begin to come at the expense of his morals. He is destined to change Marason, GA for better or for worse.
TATYANA ALI as “Connie Dawn“: Wife of City Councilman Robert Dawn and Paige's mother. Connie works as a hairstylist and feels that her family is slipping away as Dawn longer hours and Paige starts to become an adult.
MALCOLM XAVIER as “Malcolm”: A drug dealer, partnered with Jonathan — but Malcolm is already looking for an exit sign from this stage of life. He’s not happy that he’s got such a bad reputation that uptight Black women look at him askance, even when he’s doing the right thing. Malcolm is dating Paige, but her mother Connie vehemently disapproves of Malcolm and his profession.
JALEN GILBERT as “Jonathan”: Malcolm’s business partner, Jonathan took up drug dealing because he knew that studying was not his path in life. A man who's got a cold edge to him and is looking for new customers all the time, Jonathan believes in pushing his luck as well as pushing drugs— and when he sells rocks of cocaine to an undercover cop, he realizes he has pushed his luck once too often.
WES MONTEZ as “Romeo”: An Afro-Latino straight from the Bronx and a new member of Paige’s circle of friends. Romeo fits in uneasily with the group, because he does not recognize all their interwoven cultural references.
JORDAN COLEMAN as “Evelyn”: A gorgeous woman and an absolute professional. She is looking to get into politics and begins to intern with Councilman Campbell’s office. Being the newcomer, Wellington decides to take her under her wing, knowing she would never go for someone like him. But when she begins to develop feelings for him as well- it complicates things with Campbell’s campaign.
SHARON CONLEY as “Lauren Thompson”: A police officer on the Atlanta police force for about 21 years. Lauren has just been appointed the first Black female chief of police in America, and she (and everyone else on the force) knows that this represents a moment of powerful transition for Atlanta, maybe for the country.
EVAN GAMBLE as “Nathan”: An undercover cop posing as a street addict.
SHAWN VAUGHN as “Justin”: A young Godfather of Atlanta, also known as “The Justin of Atlanta” – there is nothing in the city that he does not know about. From promoting parties to connecting the right dots, Justin is beloved by all.
