First Look Pics & Release Date to Apple TV+ series Bad Monkey

Apple TV+ today unveiled the premiere date and a first-look at “Bad Monkey,” the highly anticipated comedy from award-winning executive producer Bill Lawrence (“Ted Lasso,” “Shrinking”) and starring acclaimed actor, producer and screenwriter Vince Vaughn, who also serves as an executive producer. Based on Carl Hiaasen's New York Times Bestselling novel and enduring cult favorite, the 10-episode series makes its global debut on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on August 14, 2024 followed by new episodes every Wednesday through October 9.

“Bad Monkey,” tells the story of Andrew Yancy (Vaughn) who has been bounced from the Miami Police department and is now a health inspector in the Keys. But after stumbling upon a case that begins with a human arm fished up by tourists, he realizes that if he can prove murder, he'll be back in. He just needs to get past a trove of Floridian oddballs and one bad monkey.

The ensemble cast also includes L. Scott Caldwell, Rob Delaney, Meredith Hagner, Natalie Martinez, Alex Moffat, Michelle Monaghan, Ronald Peet, Jodie Turner-Smith, Reese Antoinette, David St. Louis, Ashley Nicole Black and Amina Massai with special guest star John Ortiz and guest stars Zach Braff and Charlotte Lawrence in her television debut.

Hailing from Warner Bros. Television, “Bad Monkey” is developed by executive producer and showrunner Lawrence, who executive produced through his Doozer Productions alongside Jeff Ingold, Matt Tarses (“Scrubs”), Marcos Siega, Vince Vaughn and Liza Katzer.

Turner-Smith will portray Dragon Queen/Gracie, she’s both revered and feared on Andros as she practices Obeah alongside her contentious grandmother.

Caldwell (“Our Kind of People,” “Lost”) will star as YaYa, is the grandmother of the Dragon Queen (Turner-Smith) and a true believer in the mystical power of Andros. She struggles to keep her granddaughter from losing her way and using her influence and power for cynical purposes.

Peet (“Partner Track,” “The I-land”) will star as Neville, a young, mild-mannered Bahamian fisherman who is forced into action when a mysterious businessman bulldozes his family home to start construction on a swanky resort. Peet takes over the role from Ahmed Elhaj in a recasting.

Reese Antoinette as Dawnie, Lulu's mother, and local fisherman Charles' niece living in Andros, Bahamas.

David St. Louis as Carter "Egg" Ecclestone: a hired thug working for the Striplings on Andros.

Ashley Nicole Black also serves as a writer and producer on the series.
