Produced by The Public Theater and WNYC and directed by Saheem Ali, the Free Shakespeare in the Radio production of RICHARD II, will be broadcast nightly from Monday, July 13 through Thursday, July 16 at 8:00 p.m. EST. on WNYC (93.9FM). The four-part radio play will also be available on WNYC.org and as a podcast for audience members outside of the New York tri-state area.

Led by André Holland as King Richard II, the cast of 26 amazing actors also features Lupita Nyong'o as narrator, Phylicia Rashad, Estelle Parsons, Stephen McKinley Henderson, John Douglas Thompson, Miriam A. Hyman, and more.

Brought to you in a serialized radio broadcast over four nights, listen as the last of the divinely anointed monarchs descends and loses it all. When King Richard banishes his cousin Henry Bolingbroke and deprives him of his inheritance, he unwittingly creates an enemy who will ultimately force him from the throne.
