Highlights From Bridgerton Actor Regé-Jean Page’s Saturday Night Live Hosting Gig
NBC has released some highlights from Bridgerton’s Regé-Jean Page’s Saturday Night Live hosting duties, which aired on Feb. 20. In his Opening Monologue, the British-Zimbabwean actor stated that he’s “nothing like” his Bridgerton character, the Duke of Hastings, Simon Basset. Joined by Aidy Bryant and Ego Nwodim on stage and going gaga over him because of the role, and then SNL’s Chloe Fineman as Daphne Bridgerton, it was quite funny.
Since the December release of Bridgerton, which landed him an NAACP Image Award nomination and Screen Actors Guild nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series, Page has also appeared in Eugene Ashe’s romantic drama Sylvie’s Love, opposite Tessa Thompson and Nnamdi Asomugha, signed on for a lead role in Paramount’s Dungeons & Dragons.
Where was the love for Page for him when he played Chicken George on producer Will Packer’s reboot of Roots, or when he starred in Shonda Rhimes’ short-lived ABC legal drama series For the People. Just goes to show that success, and by that, the viewership of Bridgerton will get you really far and re-invent the wheel in your career. Here are highlights of his other sketches on the show.
