Debuting via Tribeca’s YouTube channel, the Tribeca Talks @ Home: Race and the Industry series is a limited talk series that will explore racism and systemic bias in the film industry with a group of creative minds and industry executives at the vanguard. The first episode is entitled Cut To Black - A Challenge To The Film Industry with guests Warrington Hudlin (Vice Chairman, Museum of the Moving Image) and Philip Youmans (Director, Burning Cane)

The aim of the series is to elevate black & brown voices, revealing their candid thoughts on the current state of the film establishment. These conversations will focus on a particular dimension of the issues propagating systemic racism with an emphasis on solutions and recommendations using film, the written word and activism as catalysts for change. Upcoming panelists include Stefon Bristol (Director, See You Yesterday), Carlos Javier Ortiz, Raquel Cepeda, Darcy Heusel (Neon), Jenna Bond (WGA), Jihan Robinson (Quibi), Stanley Nelson (Firelight Media) and more.  

Episode 1: Cut To Black - A Challenge To the Film Industry 

This episode discusses some of the early success of Black Filmmakers and dives into some of the historical bias that's been baked into the industry.
